For Photo London 2024, running May 15 – 19, we are pleased to present a booth of photographic posters the gallery has made over the last 25 years. The majority of posters were made as one-offs for the outdoor displays on Madison Avenue and Santa Monica and were designed by Dolly Meiran. We have re-issued them in editions of 5 or 10. A few like the Don James surf poster designed by Tom Adler and the Obama HOPE poster by Shepard Fairey were part of exhibitions and are highly sought after. Only a few of these remain. There are also the last examples of the three posters we published for consecutive years at Paris Photo and were printed by Hatch Show Print in Nashville, the legendary letterpress print shop that has been creating posters for country music stars (and others) since the 1920s. For the many people who came to Paris Photo and could not afford the photographs on display they were received with surprising gratitude.
There is a particular pleasure in making posters – it’s a democratic enterprise as well as a pleasure to work with the graphic designers who gracefully combine image and text. It’s with pleasure that we can offer these 18 posters for sale. For details and prices please contact info@danzigergallery.com.
